Process Optimization at Amazon Transport S20
From March 2025 to August 2025, I completed a six-month practical semester in Operations at Amazon Logistics (DBW3) in Korntal-Münchingen. My role was highly independent, focusing heavily on the digitalization of vehicle management and the real-time visualization of workflow data.
Core Technical Projects
Digitalization of Vehicle Management (VBA)
To ensure precise fleet monitoring, I developed a VBA-based tool from scratch to automate the recording of vehicle data.
- Programmed an automated system to document the exact entry and exit times of Delivery Associates (DAs).
- Designed the user interface specifically to be accessible for employees with varying levels of technical expertise.
Process Optimization
Successfully automated the DA tracking workflow, saving the operations team 2 hours of manual entry per day.

Real-Time Throughput Calculation (JavaScript)
Operations needed a faster way to react to bottlenecks on the floor. To solve this, I built a custom visualization tool.
- Programmed a JavaScript application that calculates and visualizes the current operational throughput in real-time.
- Implemented specific visualization features to create immediate transparency for data-driven decisions.
Automated Inventory Dashboard (Python & Excel)
I completely overhauled the inventory tracking process to move from a reactive to a proactive system.
- Created an Excel-integrated dashboard with specific tabs for inventory overviews, reorder reminders, and withdrawal tracking.
- Integrated direct links to the Coupa catalog to streamline the ordering process.
- Wrote a Python script that continuously monitors stock levels and automatically sends an email alert to the Change Manager when critical thresholds are reached.

Daily Operations & Team Engagement
Beyond coding, I was deeply involved in the daily operational business and team culture of the DBW3 station.
- Workflow Management: Created daily performance reports, monitored critical workflow parameters, and coordinated operations between different shifts.
- Cross-Department Support: Supported the shopfloor during peak times and assisted the HR department with recruiting for a week.
- Station Culture: Organized weekly engagement activities for Station Associates, including team BBQs, room design improvements, and birthday celebrations.
Personal & Professional Growth
This internship allowed me to translate theoretical university knowledge into functional, practical solutions. I was recognized by management for my quick comprehension of complex processes, my independent problem-solving skills, and my seamless integration into the international operations team.
